Webinar II: Accounting the KPIs of 2ZERO

On Thursday, 13 November 2025, the LeMesurier project hosted the second session in its webinar series: “Accounting the KPIs of 2ZERO.” Building on the introductory first webinar for ‘New 2ZERO projects: Ob-boarding to the LeMesurier methods’, this session took a deeper look into how the project measures and interprets the progress of the 2ZERO Partnership through its Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Supporting 2ZERO and its Projects

The webinar, moderated by Simon Edwards (Ricardo), LeMesurier Project Coordinator, aimed to support both current and future 2ZERO projects, including project coordinators, proposal developers, and evaluators. 2ZERO builds upon earlier European automotive partnerships and tracks its success through a robust framework of objectives and KPIs. LeMesurier plays a key role in this process by providing the methodologies and tools to assess the impact of the 2ZERO project portfolio in relation to the Partnership’s strategic objectives.

Accounting for Direct KPIs

Verena Wagenhofer (AVL) and Eleni Papaioannou (CERTH) presented the work conducted under Work Package 1 (WP1), which focuses on the accounting of direct KPIs. They introduced the multi-step methodology used for the assessment, combining public data analysis, a detailed review of over 20 2ZERO projects, and a series of in-depth interviews.

Their findings are compiled in Deliverable D1.2, which provides a comprehensive description of the Direct KPIs and the methods used to evaluate them. The team’s efforts showcased strong collaboration and communication with the contacted projects, while also revealing that awareness of the Partnership’s overarching objectives remains limited. LeMesurier is actively working to bridge this gap by aligning methodologies and strengthening the community’s shared understanding.

Evaluating Compound KPIs

Giannis Papadimitriou (Emisia) presented the results from Work Package 3 (WP3), focusing on the assessment of Compound KPIs. This task involved detailed modelling and simulations using three vehicle parc models, which together help quantify the broader impacts of 2ZERO projects.

Giannis also presented the LeMesurier Digital Twin, a dynamic tool that enables the replication and updating of KPI calculations as new data becomes available. This capability ensures the methodology remains relevant beyond the project’s lifetime and could provide significant added value for future assessments.

Reflections and next steps

In closing, Lucie Beaumel, Director of EGVIAfor2Zero, expressed her appreciation for the contributions of the LeMesurier consortium and its efforts to enhance the understanding of impact assessment within 2ZERO.

After two years of dedicated work, LeMesurier is now approaching its conclusion. The project will hold its Final Event on 4 December 2025, marking the culmination of its activities and presenting its final insights on measuring the impact of Europe’s transition to sustainable, zero-emission mobility.
