LeMesurier showcased at ITS World Congress 2024

The LeMesurier Project was represented at the 30th edition of the ITS World Congress. This premier global event brings together representatives from the Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) community for a dynamic week of interactive sessions, panel discussions, exhibitions, and demonstrations. It serves as a platform to showcase the latest innovations in smart mobility and shape the agenda for future research and deployment. This year, the Congress was held in Dubai from September 16 to 20.

The event marked the first public presentation of the LeMesurier project outside Europe. Amid discussions centred on cutting-edge mobility solutions and innovative deployment strategies, our project stood out as an example of research dedicated to reducing road emissions, a pressing challenge for a sector heavily contributing to greenhouse emissions. The project was presented by Andrew Winder, LeMesurier’s Dissemination Leader from ERTICO, the event organizer, during an open session at the ERTICO stand.

LeMesurier supports the 2Zero mission to achieve zero tailpipe emissions in road transport. The project evaluates the contributions and outcomes of 2Zero Partnership projects, analysing their impact and effectiveness in addressing road transport challenges. It also provides recommendations for improving measurement methods and advancing the partnership’s objectives. By participating in an event like the ITS World Congress, the project aimed to engage with global initiatives, share insights, and refine its mission through collaboration with the broader ITS community, ensuring alignment with cutting-edge innovations and strategies.

Our project is actively collaborating with the STREnGth_M project, which supports ERTRAC. Mr Winder introduced both initiatives, highlighting how STREnGth_M contributes to planning future research and innovation in road transport across Europe. Similarly to LeMesurier, a core project outcome is the development of a framework to evaluate how ERTRAC and Member States drive transport research and advance their roadmaps effectively. Additionally, this project promotes educational programs for road transport stakeholders and encourages global knowledge exchange, with a focus on Africa, Asia, and Latin America.

The synergies between the two projects, both presented by Mr Winder during his presentation, foster mutual learning and collaboration.
